Yellow Penguins! - I really loved my green penguins so I decided to create another little guy to go along with him. I’ll probably make a bunch more as I decided to start selling my characters as clip art and want a nice bulky selection to offer people!

Hey everyone! I’m selling stuff on Art Rookie now! Follow »>THIS LINK«< to go check it out.

Art Rookie are a UK based site, helping artists to get their stuff out there and on sale. There aren’t many UK based places to sell stuff like this so I was pretty please when they contacted me. They’re also very responsive and let you know if any of your work needs altering for print.

Diving For Treasure - Finally got this finished! It’s been in the works for a long time now and this past week I was determined to get it done.

I’m really chuffed with it because I wanted that crowded feeling pictures of reefs give you but still having an image with breathing space. I also wanted a lot to look at, so things in the background, subtle shadows, small animals… And I think it turned out alright.

30 Day Drawing Challenge: Day 20 - A comic

About a month in the making and I finally for this comic, that was only meant to take a day, done! I’ll admit I ended up taking the comic idea way too seriously and wanted to make something that felt worked on rather than a quick scribble of something.

I am tempted to start doing more comics to help me keep practiced in sequential illustrations. I will admit the story for this is a bit weak and part of the reason it took so long is that about half way through I felt like it was too weak. I feel bad for saying that as my friend Sam gave me the idea and it is a brilliant idea, I just didn’t know how to make it feel right. In the end, I decided to power through with it and just work with it. I wanted to try keep a limited colour palette so that each panel feels connected but also to alter it as the story went on to show a progression.

Anyway, here you go. And now I won’t be posting anything for a little while as I’m on holiday but then I should have a lot to post once I’m back.

Fox Spirit products! - Hey y’all, just to let you all know my fox spirit is now available as a sticker, t-shirt or phone case design on my RedBubble shop now :D Find it here!

Green Penguin - So lately I’ve decided I’d like to get into doing sticker characters like this. Ideally I’d have liked to find a way to get them on FB or something and then I found out it’s more that they commission people so that’s a no go >w< The alternative then is to make then into actual stickers! I’ve made them available on by RedBubble shop here if you’re interested but the eventual plan is to maybe get them printed and sell them myself.
Let me know what you think!

Fox with a (bloody) axe - This was just some random idea I drew a few weeks ago. I really enjoy creepy things so want to try and put some creepy elements in my work.

23rd World Scouts Jamboree Japan, Unit 40 Badge Design - April 2014

Client: Nottinghamshire Scouts Group Unit 40

February 2014, I was asked to help create a new badge design to represent the Nottinghamshire scouts group, Unit 40. This involved visiting the group on their first weekend together, giving them a tutorial on the manga art style as well as some basic information about Japanese culture. The scouts then used this to come up with ideas and character that could be used on their badges; which would represent the county of Nottinghamshire as well as the trip to Japan. As only a few fully embraced the task, I came up with a few character designs of my own, using the scouts ideas as inspiration.

The group came up with the “Hood’s 40” tag line, to represent one of the most recognised Nottinghamshire legend, Robin Hood. This along with the character with a Robin Hood feel would be a great way to show off their pride of being from the county.

In the end, the final design chosen was a character drawn by one of the scouts, which I had rendered digitally. I will note that the design was created using reference from a how to draw manga book, but was adapted to fit the brief. I made a few alterations for the final design and it was approved for printing.

I’m really pleased with this :) Normally when I try to draw Andy, it doesn’t look right but he turned out great in this.
